As one of the most important results of the COP30, Brazil is planning a new investment fund to save tropical forests. The aim is to generate returns for investors, emerging economies and forest conservation with USD 125 billion. But the project faces many hurdles.

With a new type of global investment fund, Brazil wants to secure the preservation of tropical rainforests worldwide and, at the same time, break new ground in climate financing. The concrete concept for the „Tropical Forests Forever Facility“ (TFFF), which Brazil had already announced would be launched in 2024 for the COP30 in Belém, is currently being presented to governments and investors around the world. The 68-page detailed investment prospectus from the end of February is to be presented in a roadshow from May to November and is available to Table.Briefings.
