On Wednesday, the German government passed another batch of emission allowances to be deleted as part of the coal phase-out. According to the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), Germany has thus registered the deletion of 514,000 allowances with the EU on time for 2023. According to the ministry, this will „secure the climate action effect of the coal phase-out.“
