In preparation for the COP30, the Brazilian Presidency and UN Secretary-General António Guterres have agreed on an informal pre-summit meeting of UN states. The event will take place as a digital meeting in April, Guterres and Brazil’s President Lula da Silva agreed in a telephone call on Monday, according to the COP presidency. The meeting should „assess the progress of this work, promote the development of ambitious goals and discuss ways to strengthen multilateralism within the framework of the Brazil-UN Partnership for Climate Ambition,“ they said.
