Tripling renewables and doubling energy efficiency: to achieve these two goals agreed upon at COP28 in Dubai, the G20 and other economically large countries need to invest much more, says IRENA. According to the organization, only the movement away from fossil fuels is making progress.

In order to achieve the COP28 climate targets, the countries of the G20 and a further 15 emerging economies must expand renewable energies much more than before. This is shown by data from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). „We are just over halfway to achieving what is needed to triple renewable capacities by 2030 as agreed,“ IRENA Secretary-General Francesco La Camera told Table.Briefings.
