IRENA: G20 countries need to expand renewables twice as fast.

A floating photovoltaic plant is being built on Cottbus’s Baltic Sea – more investment is needed to triple renewables.

In order to achieve the COP28 climate targets, the countries of the G20 and a further 15 emerging economies must expand renewable energies much more than before. This is shown by data from the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). „We are just over halfway to achieving what is needed to triple renewable capacities by 2030 as agreed,“ IRENA Secretary-General Francesco La Camera told Table.Briefings.
