LULUCF: Trilogue agreement enables increase of EU climate target

In a late meeting last night, negotiators from the EU Parliament, Council and Commission agreed on a common denominator on the Land Use and Forestry Regulation (LULUCF). According to the agreement, the natural greenhouse gas reduction target for the sector, divided among EU countries, will be set at 310 million tonnes of CO2 equivalent from 2030.
