Good news before Ursula von der Leyen’s #SOTEU speech: Europeans love their EU a bit more again. Not all, but most – according to recent Eurobarometer results. Dissatisfied with the EU’s pandemic management (compared to the national government) are mainly the Germans, Slovaks and Greeks. Are the Covid reconstruction funds well spent? Apart from the Germans, it is mainly the French, Latvians and Finns who doubt this. At least: Two-thirds of EU citizens are currently optimistic about the future. But the economic situation remains the biggest concern, with climate change already in second place.
