EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned of the impact of tariffs on energy security at a conference of the International Energy Agency (IEA). „We are experiencing a new paradigm for energy security,“ said von der Leyen in London on Thursday. „In Europe, we have seen first-hand how Russia has deliberately used energy supply as a weapon. In the Middle East, conflicts have fueled instability and endangered global shipping. And on the other side of the Atlantic, the threat of tariffs is increasing the risk of further disruption to key supply chains.“
