When it comes to security of supply and LNG, the focus is often only on new supply, but demand will also grow in the coming years – at least the liquefied natural gas industry hopes so.

At the World LNG Summit in Berlin, the industry reveals why it expects further growth for liquefied natural gas and customers willing to pay for it. Meanwhile, according to experts, the new Trump administration wants to „eliminate“ climate regulations for methane leaks.

Despite new liquefaction capacities for LNG, the industry expects supply to remain tight. „The market will remain tight for the next two to three years,“ said Laurent David, spokesman for the International Association of LNG Importers (GIIGNL), at the World LNG Summit in Berlin on Wednesday.
