Spain already has a strict rider law. The company Glovo is facing a fine of millions there because it continues to work with self-employed people.

The Platform Work Directive can enter into force. Parliament voted in favor with a large majority. The law is intended to combat bogus self-employment – and establishes rules for AI in the workplace in the EU for the first time.

Members of the European Parliament have confirmed the directive on platform work by a large majority. On Wednesday, 554 MEPs from all political groups voted in favor of the text, and 56 against it – including the German FDP MEPs. 24 MEPs abstained.
