Political agreement on platform work

Platform employees should be better protected.

There is a political agreement on platform work. It stipulates that member states are responsible for determining the status of workers on digital platforms. It remains to be seen whether the compromise will be approved in the Council.

The political compromise on the Commission’s proposal for the Platform Work Directive provides that the determination of worker status on platforms will be made by the authorities of the member states. Additionally, the compromise does not accommodate a demand from France.
