Growth for stationary batteries in Europe has slowed in 2024. According to a report published by the lobby association SolarPower Europe on Wednesday, this is because the installation of home storage systems in Europe fell for the first time since 2020. The market slumped by eleven percent compared to the previous year, but still accounts for the majority of new installations at around 50%. However, large battery parks grew strongly, with the overall market increasing by 15% to 21.9 gigawatt hours (GWh). In the previous year, growth was still at 84%. The reasons for the decline in the home segment were lower electricity prices and the discontinuation of subsidy programs.
